Frank Adler (Chris Evans) is a single man raising a child prodigy – his spirited young niece Mary (Mckenna Grace) – in a coastal town in Florida. Frank’s plans for a normal school life for Mary are foiled when the seven-year-old’s mathematical abilities come to the attention of Frank’s formidable mother Evelyn (Lindsay Duncan) whose plans for her granddaughter threaten to separate Frank and Mary. Octavia Spencer plays Roberta, Frank and Mary’s landlady and best friend. Jenny Slate is Mary’s teacher, Bonnie, a young woman whose concern for her student develops into a connection with her uncle as well.
I have to say, I am interested in this movie. The story seems compelling and the cast looks great. Its also going to be interesting to see a different side to Chris Evans, who recently has played the character of Steve Rogers in the Marvel superhero movies these past several years. I know this movie isn’t destined to make a lot of money at the box office, but it definitely peaked my interest.
Gifted is set to be released on April 12th, 2017
I’m interested in this one too. For me the big question is can Chris Evans carry this type of dramatic load. I’m optimistic.
Yeah, you do have a point. However, I think Evans can pull it off. It just might be hard to seeing as this character versus Steve Rogers.
