The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes Official Trailer 2

Witness the rise of power as Lionsgate releases the second official trailer for the upcoming prequel of The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. View trailer below.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes follows a young Coriolanus (Tom Blyth) who is the last hope for his failing lineage, the once-proud Snow family that has fallen from grace in a post-war Capitol. With his livelihood threatened, Snow is reluctantly assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler), a tribute from the impoverished District 12. But after Lucy Gray’s charm captivates the audience of Panem, Snow sees an opportunity to shift their fates. With everything he has worked for hanging in the balance, Snow unites with Lucy Gray to turn the odds in their favor. Battling his instincts for both good and evil, Snow sets out on a race against time to survive and reveal if he will ultimately become a songbird or a snake.

Oh,wow…..I wasn’t expecting a new trailer for this movie, especially since the last “official trailer” pretty much showcased pretty much what the film was going to be about. That being said, I certainly do welcome this new trailer. All the new footage shown in this new trailer looks fantastic. In truth, I’m actually reading the novel currently and about halfway through it. So, it’s fun to see certain scenes that I’ve already read appear in the preview. All in all, I’m still quite excited to see this movie. Just have to finish the book before the movie comes out in mid-November.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes  opens in theaters on November 17th, 2023

  • I’ve always enjoyed Battle Royale more than the Hunger Game movies, but they are good, solid, entertaining movies and I’m looking forward to this one. Looks good and will be interesting to see the backstory played out instead of just a brief narrative.

  • I quite enjoyed the original Hunger Games movies but not clamoring to see this one. I’m just not a fan of Rachel Zegler, but I might just see this for Viola Davis and Peter Dinklage 🙂

  • I watched all 4 hunger games movies. One of hte biggest movie mistakes of my life!

    • I liked them. I think Mockingjay Part 1 was unnecessary shouldn’t have been a two part endeavor, but I thought they were fun to watch, which is why I’m excited for this movie. As for your other comment, my comments are placed on “screen first” moderation because I get a lot of spam bot that try to post comments. Thus, your comment won’t appear until I approve it.

  • I’m excited about this. Read the book a month ago and loved how it’s not an attempt to milk the original trilogy. Coriolanus Snow’s development as a man and villain is fascinating.

    • I’m about halfway through the book currently and I do like it how it gives Snow a very interesting character dynamic. Can’t wait to see the movie.
