Dune Official Trailer

The sleeper has awakened as Warner Bros. Pictures releases the first official trailer for the upcoming and highly anticipated sci-fi film Dune. View trailer below.
In the far future of humanity, Duke Leto Atreides accepts stewardship of the dangerous desert planet Arrakis, also known as Dune, the only source of the most valuable substance in the universe, “the spice”, a drug which extends human life, provides superhuman levels of thought, and makes foldspace travel possible. Though Leto knows the opportunity is an intricate trap set by his enemies, he takes his Bene Gesserit concubine Lady Jessica, young son and heir Paul, and most trusted advisers to Arrakis. Leto takes control of the spice mining operation, which is made perilous by the presence of giant sandworms. A bitter betrayal leads Paul and Jessica to the Fremen, natives of Arrakis who live in the deep desert, with Paul soon discovering his destiny and the role he plays in the future of the galactic empire.
Oh my god! I’m super stoked for this movie. I love the Dune series. Even though I’ve only read the first book, I know of all the storylines of the series (i.e. characters, places, events, themes, etc.) as well as enjoying the other adaptations. I prefer the Sci-fi channel miniseries (both Dune and Children of Dune) over David Lynch’s Dune. So, one could say that I’m well-versed in all things Dune, which is why I’m excited for this movie and this trailer fully delivered. Everything about the trailer looks impressive and I’m totally geeking out about everything i saw. Plus, director Denis Villeneuve has always been a great visual director and judging from this trailer alone, it looks like Dune is gonna such a grand and epic movie. All in all, regardless if another trailer drops or not, I’m totally hyped to see this movie.
Dune arrives in theaters on December 18th, 2020
Unlike you I’m not very familiar with Dune, having never read the books or seen any of the adaptations. That said, I do of course know it’s one of those legends in science fiction, and having seen this trailer I do like what I see😊 That, and I have the utmost faith in Denis Villeneuve, so there is that! I hope for you the movie is all that you expect it to be! 😀
Def in good hands with Villeneuve. I look forward to seeing!
I must admit I’m curious. I loved the original Dune books. It would be awesome if the film techniques and technologies of today manage to capture the deeply internal nature of Dune.
