Sicario: Day of the Soldado Official Trailer

A new trailer, a new title heads our way as Sony’s Columbia Pictures releases the official theatrical trailer for the upcoming sequel Sicario: Day of the Soldado. View trailer below.
After discovering that drug cartels are smuggling terrorists across the US border, the CIA sends Matt Graver (Josh Brolin) and former undercover operative Alejandro Gillick (Benicio del Toro) to eliminate the problem. Along the way, Alejandro revisits his old nemesis to settle scores.
Hmmm…interesting. I was expecting that a new trailer would be eventually dropping soon, so this appearance of a new trailer doesn’t surprise me. What does surprise, however, is the film’s new title change. To be fair, i like this new title better than the old one. Suffice to say, this new trailer looks pretty intriguing, further expanding on the movie’s plot as well as the conflict. It will be interesting to see how critics and moviegoers will ultimately take this Sicario sequel. I guess we’ll all find out that answer near the end of June.
Sicario: Day of the Soldado arrives in theaters on June 29th, 2018
I’m disappointed in the new title. Sounds to me like a mediocre/bad straight-to-DVD titled sequel of a movie that was released in theaters. I keep on thinking of the Wrong Turn movies, Bring it On movies, etc.
I’d prefer Soldado, would be OK with Sicario 2. But it comes down to marketing and recognition. I’m sure that there are a good amount of people who would go into this movie titled Soldado without knowing this was a sequel and being in the dark about a lot of story machinations.
Yeah, I kind of agree with you on that point. To me, it would’ve been quite interesting if the movie just went under the title of Soldado, which would be pretty cool. Sadly, it did not.
I don’t love Sicario 2: Soldado but I like it much, much more than Sicario 2: Day of the Soldado.
Yeah, i agree with you. It should’ve been just Soldado or even Sicario: Soldado.
