Pacific Rim: Uprising Official Trailer

Prepare to join the “uprising” as Universal Pictures and Legendary Pictures releases the official trailer for the upcoming blockbuster sequel Pacific Rim: Uprising. View trailer below.

It has been ten years since the Battle of the Breach and the oceans are still, but restless. Vindicated by the victory at the Breach, the Jaeger program has evolved into the most powerful global defense force in human history. The PPDC now calls upon the best and brightest to rise up and become the next generation of heroes when the Kaiju threat returns. Into this is thrust ex-jaeger pilot Jake Pentecost, son of the late Stacker Pentecost, who is given a chance by his adopted sister, Mako Mori to unite with the world and fellow Jaeger pilots to prevent humanity’s extinction.

Wow….love it. The original Pacific Rim was the very definition of a summer blockbuster. It was big, loud, and had a lot of “popcorn” fun from start to finish. It also had a great cast and the visual effects of the various Kaiju monsters and mechanical Jaegers were impressive. This first trailer for Pacific Rim: Uprising showcases a new generation of Jaeger (sad that Charlie Hunnam is not in this one), but at least several actors from the first one are returning (Day, Gorman, and Kikuchi). I’m hoping that this movie doesn’t disappoint. I’m ready for another Kaiju vs. Jaeger battle!!!

Pacific Rim: Uprising is set to be released on March 23rd, 2018

  • I was a big fan of the original Pacific Rim, but I have to be honest that the trailer for this sequel did not get me as excited as the ones that were released at the time for part 1. I don’t know, the robots just look like a bunch of toys, not the big lumbering giants from that first movie. It almost feels a bit like power rangers. But I am hoping I am wrong. I’m still going to go ahead and see it though 😊

    • Haha….maybe your right. I was a big fan of the first one, I do hope that Uprising is just as good as the first one was. However, Hollywood doesn’t have a good track record of blockbuster sequels.
