Dark Universe – Monsters Legacy Announcement Trailer

Welcome to a new world of gods and monsters. Check out the brief announcement teaser for Universal’s monster legacy trailer for their upcoming “Monster Universe”, which is now titled “Dark Universe”. View trailer below.
Hmmm….interesting. So now, Universal’s big “monster shared universe” is now called “Dark Universe”. As you can tell (from the video above), it seems that this new shared universe will include a lot of iconic monsters films such as The Mummy as well as Frankenstein, The Invisible Man, The Wolfman, etc. This is eluding to the characters to be featured in this new “Dark Universe”, starting off with The Mummy, which is coming out very soon. In addition, Universal has also announced that The Bride of Frankenstein will followed The Mummy as the second film in this “Dark Universe”. Also, that actors Johnny Depp and Javier Bardem have been announced to play a part in this new “Dark Universe”, playing the roles of the Invisible Man and Frankenstein’s Monster respectfully. It will be interesting to see where this cinematic universe goes and how it will be received by both critics and moviegoers. I guess the release of The Mummy will set the tone and somewhat “future forecast” the expectations for their coming monster installments.
The Mummy is set to be unleashed on June 9th, 2017
The Bride of Frankenstein is set for release in theaters on February 14th, 2019
God I love this!!!!!!!!
It will be interesting to see how this Dark Universe be received by movigoers.
At first, I thought the Dark Universe referred to Justice League Dark, and was way too excited. 😂 The Mummy looks dull from the trailers, so I’m not too sure how this will turn out. Still, Javier Bardem is involved – that’s cool!
Haha…yeah, it’s kind of neat that Bardem is involved in this shared universe. It will be interesting to see where these movies go and how they will be received by the public.
I have no idea what to think of this. If it leads in a somewhat reboot of Monster Squad, I’m all in!
Haha…you never know. Iron Man 1 lead to the Avengers and Man of Steel lead to Suicide Squad and Justice League. The Mummy could be the start to a Monster squad reboot.
