The Mummy Official Theatrical Trailer

Princess Ahmanet unleashes her wraith upon the world as Universal Pictures releases the official theatrical trailer for the upcoming monster remake of The Mummy. View trailer below.

Thought safely entombed in a crypt deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient queen (Sofia Boutella of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her, is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension. From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.

Hmmm….interesting. I have to say a bit more interested to see this movie than what I was before, but I still have reservation about seeing this. I don’t know why….I have this lingering doubt about this movie. Like what I said before about the previous trailer, I don’t see why they need to recreate this movie. Yes, I know its part of Universal’s monster cinematic world (the first entry), but it just seems like the original 1999 version (again trading Brendan Fraser with Tom Cruise). I do like Sofia Boutella and I’m kind of interested to see he version of “the Mummy” character, plus the updated visuals look impressive. So, for now, I’m interested in seeing this film, but its still a tossup for me.

The Mummy  arrives in theaters on June 9, 2017
