The film is an original and personal look at Napoleon Bonaparte’s origins and his swift, ruthless climb to emperor, viewed through the prism of his addictive and often volatile relationship with his wife and one true love, Josephine.

I’ve been looking for this preview for quite some time. I do remember hearing about this particular project for awhile and have been anxiously awaiting how this movie would be presented and look. From the trailer alone, the movie itself looks to be quite promising. Of course, the film is directed by Ridley Scott, who (for the most part) has always been a skilled director, especially in his period piece epics (Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, and The Last Duel). The trailer showcases loads of footage, especially from the battles Napoleon has waged and how he rose to power. I’m quite interested to see how Phoenix does play the iconic historical French leader as well as Kirby, who plays his wife (Joesphine). In the end, I’m quite excited to see how Napoleon will shape up to be and how moviegoers will view this movie. Only time will tell.

Napoleon  arrives in theaters on November 22nd and then to be streamed on Apple TV+ on a later date.
