Cruella Official Trailer 2

The devil gets her due as Walt Disney Studios releases the second official trailer for their upcoming film Cruella. View trailer below.

Cruella, which is set in 1970s London amidst the punk rock revolution, follows a young grifter named Estella, a clever and creative girl determined to make a name for herself with her designs. She befriends a pair of young thieves who appreciate her appetite for mischief, and together they are able to build a life for themselves on the London streets. One day, Estella’s flair for fashion catches the eye of the Baroness von Hellman, a fashion legend who is devastatingly chic and terrifyingly haute. But their relationship sets in motion a course of events and revelations that will cause Estella to embrace her wicked side and become the raucous, fashionable, and revenge-bent Cruella.

A new trailer….quite interesting. I wasn’t really expecting a new trailer for this movie, but I sure do welcome it. This new preview for Disney’s upcoming film looks quite interesting and somewhat of a bit different from the company’s previous live-action remakes; acting more of a prequel to focus on the main villian (i.e. her descent into madness and villainy) versus Maleficent, which depicts a “another side, another story” type vibe. This new trailer shows plenty of new footage, including Emma Thompson’s character of Baroness von Hellman, who seems to act as the main antagonist character of the film. Plus, I do have admit that the movie’s costumes look quite great and elaborate. Yet, I still can’t shake off the simple fact that this movie seems like Disney-fied version of 2019’s Joker. Regardless of that, I am curious to see how this movie turns out and how it will be received by moviegoers everywhere.

Cruella  arrives both in theaters and on Disney+ on May 28th, 2021

  • I’m interested, personally! Although it does sound like a Disney-fied version of Joker that begs the question, “do we really need it?” I feel like people are going to be divided on this one as much as the colors in Cruella’s hair
