Ghostbusters: Afterlife Official Trailer

Everything happens for a reason as Sony Pictures Entertainment release the official trailer for the upcoming sequel film Ghostbusters: Afterlife. View trailer below.

From director Jason Reitman and producer Ivan Reitman, comes the next chapter in the original Ghostbusters universe. In Ghostbusters: Afterlife, when a single mom and her two kids arrive in a small town, they begin to discover their connection to the original ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind. The film is written by Jason Reitman & Gil Kenan.

Hmmm….interesting, but I’m not quite sure what to make of this. Of course, I did like the first two Ghostbuster films (more the first one than the second one) and I did like the 2016 reboot spin-off feature (yes, I’ll admit that I liked it), but we haven’t a new one in quite sometime, which has been hinted since the 80s. So, the moment is here and this trailer offers the first glimpse into this long-awaited sequel endeavor. Judging from what I saw, I do have agree with many viewers out there (saying that its a Stranger Things rip-off), especially with its younger primary cast members encountering supernatural / ghostly beings. It’s not a cut and clear rip off, but the similarities are there. Also, I find it interesting that the movie is being directed by Jason Reitman, the son of Ivan Reitman (who directed the original two Ghostbuster movies). In the end, I’m somewhat interested to see how this movie will ultimately shape up to be and how it will be received from today’s moviegoers, but I still have some reservations about the film. Only time will tell if my doubts will be wrong or right about Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

  • I have yet to see any of the Ghostbusters movies, but I hope to soon.

  • I loved the original Ghostbusters but the 2016 reboot… that was agony. I’m skittish to give this one a chance, but maybe with some more counseling I can overcome the PTSD of the female gang and give it a try.

    • See….I didn’t disliked the 2016 Ghostbuster movie as much as everyone else. Granted, it was completely unnecessary, but it was enjoyable (in my eyes). This movie certainly looks interesting. Let’s hope that Afterlife breathes new life into this franchise.
