Jumanji: The Next Level Official Trailer

The game returns with a whole new level as Sony / Columbia Pictures presents the official trailer for the upcoming sequel Jumanji: The Next Level.
Unknown to his friends, Spencer kept the pieces of the Jumanji video game, and one day worked to repair the system in the basement of his grandfather’s house. When Spencer’s friends arrive, they find Spencer missing and the game running, and decide to re-enter Jumanji to save him. Spencer’s grandfather, Eddie, and his friend, Milo Walker, hear the commotion, and inadvertently get sucked into the game too. The teenaged friends must help Eddie and Milo get used to their in-game avatars and get their help to find Spencer and escape Jumanji again.
Like many out there (of my generation age), I was surprised when Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle came out. Sure, I loved the cast and the premise was fun, but it wasn’t as scary nor grand as the first Jumanji movie was. I don’t know….maybe because I had very fond memories of watching that particular film a lot when I was younger. Still, the second installment was good and spoke to the newer generation of viewers out there. Given the success of Welcome to the Jungle, a sequel to it was almost a forgone conclusion. Thus, we have now Jumanji: The Next Level. This trailer for the new movie definitely showcases a lot of what made the last film fun and enjoyable and will (as the trailer shows) different aspects of characters / avatars as well as whole new level beyond what we have seeing before in the Jumanji world. While I’m not overly excited to see it, The Next Level is certainly something I am intrigued to see when it comes out.
Jumanji: The Next Level arrives in theaters on December 13th, 2019
I had a lot of fun with Welcome to the Jungle; The Next Level should be interesting. As the 3rd film, it would be nice to get some answers as to who built the game, etc, rather than just rehash the previous one.
There were some parts of the reboot that I enjoyed and thought was funny, but overall I was highly disappointed. But I am a big fan of the original so maybe I just couldn’t adjust to the new characters, etc. I’ll see this one to see what it holds, I just hope I don’t feel like I wasted my time and money again (but as far as the kids go, they LOVE it).
Yep, looks like a good Christmas Holiday film for us……
