Aladdin Official Teaser Trailer

A whole new world” awaits as Disney Studios released the official teaser trailer for the upcoming live-action remake of their animated classic Aladdin. View trailer below.
“Aladdin” is the exciting tale of the charming street rat Aladdin, the courageous and self-determined Princess Jasmine and the Genie who may be the key to their future. Directed by Guy Ritchie, who brings his singular flair for fast-paced, visceral action to the fictitious port city of Agrabah, the film is written by John August and Ritchie based on Disney’s “Aladdin.”
Growing up in the 90s, I grew watching Disney’s animated feature Aladdin and know it inside and out, especially all the songs from the film. While it wasn’t my absolute personal favorite (Lion King is), I do love and it was definitely one of better movies that Disney had produced. Given the current trend of Disney remaking their classic features into live-action endeavors, it was inevitable that Aladdin would come to silver screen once again (in this capacity). From the trailer, it looks pretty awesome, especially hearing (I think it is) the original “Cave of Wonders” voice again. It will be interesting to see how this movie will ultimately shape up to be and how both critics and moviegoers will enjoy it. Personally, with the success of Disney’s past few live-action remakes (i.e. Cinderella, The Jungle Book, and Beauty and the Beast), here’s hoping that Aladdin follows their cinematic trend.
Aladdin arrives in theaters on May 24th, 2019
This looks promising. Like you said, if they follow the trend of the most recent ones, this should be a hit.
Most definitely. Keeping my fingers cross for this one to be good.
It is interesting to hear your thoughts. Personally, I am sceptical about the whole thing. Disney animations are just too dear to everyone’s heart for them to just embrace this new live-action thing. I hated Beauty and the Beast (2017), but, so far, I really like what they did with Aladdin, so we can only wait and see. I am more terrified about Mulan live-action, than Aladdin, though.
