Annihilation Teaser Trailer

The writer and director of the critical acclaimed film Ex Machina prepares for his sophomore film as Paramount Pictures and Skydance release the teaser trailer for Annihilation. View trailer below.
Based on the book by Jeff VanderMeer, the film looks to be following the first book rather closely (albeit with a bit more gunplay), as Portman’s biologist character enters Area X with a team of other experts (played by Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodriguez, Tessa Thompson and Tuva Novotny). They’ve all been sent in by the Southern Reach, a government agency, but Portman’s biologist has her own motive for joining the expedition: to track down her husband (Oscar Isaac), who went missing on a previous mission into Area X.
Wow! Looks very intriguing. What can I say, I loved (and still do) Ex Machina. It was definitely a “hidden gem” of 2015 and a great twist ending. I always wonder when Alex Garland was going to do another film and I guess Annihilation is that answer. This teaser trailer is very “foreboding”, teasing us (the viewer) with another mysterious sci-fi feature that looks promising. Garland as already promised a “mind-blowing” ending for this film, so, if its anything like the ending for Ex Machina, I’m sure many, including myself, will like it. Plus, the cast in this movie looks good as well. All in all, Annihilation is definitely on my radar for 2018 movies to look forward to.
Annihilation arrives in theaters on February 28th, 2018
I love this cast! And Ex Machina was indeed a gem, one I feel lucky to have discovered. It’s nice to see Oscar Issac is returning to work with Garland for his second directorial outing.
I must say I’m intrigued. There’s a lot of mystery at work in this trailer.

Can’t wait for it. Ex Machina is one of the best independent sci-fi films since long time.
P. S. Have you watched The Machine? I’m sure you’ll enjoy it too, it’s a dark cyberpunk about the AI that has some very cool ideas.
