2017 New Year Resolutions for Jason’s Movie Blog
Well, its officially 2017! Hooray!!! Happy New Year to all. 2016 was a big year for me (personally), but also a big year for Jason’s Movie Blog. Here’s quick look back and a promise for 2017.
I saw and reviewed plenty of movies (a total of 110 2016 films) and I gained a lot of followers (I’m almost nearing 300 WordPress followers). On the flip side, I’ve seen many other bloggers on-line in 2016 and began to follow them blogs. Its always nice to see how other bloggers sharing their thoughts and passions with others. I’ve had the pleasure of having other movie blogger to guest work on Jason’s Movie Blog, including (Keithlovesmovies and Stuff And That). A huge thanks to both! In addition, I personally had the opportunity to guest review on several blogs, including (Keithlovesmovies, Stuff And That, and LazySunday). Be sure to check out their blogs! In addition, I was asked to participate in my podcast (several times) on Talking Stars (give them a listen. I hope to be a guest again in future podcasts in 2017). So…to my fellow bloggers out there, keep up the good work in 2017 and big thank you (from me to you).
So as the year of 2017 has officially begun, I decided to do a little “New Year Resolution” for Jason’s Movie Blog and here it is…
In 2017, I will continue to write movie reviews for mostly mainstream films. However, I am looking for other guest bloggers to guest review on Jason’s Movie Blog. (I’m holding up a “HELP WANTED” sign). So, if you’re interested in writing for my blog, please contact me and we’ll work something out. I do encourage all my readers out there. Don’t be shy.
Additionally, I do plan to do some more editorial pieces. I did a few pieces in 2016, but I want to do more. I’ve already started to think of some ideas (some editorials and some top ten lists as well). Here’s what I have so far…

The Paradox Age of Superhero Films
The Mythical Power of Movie Trailers (Do’s and Don’ts)
Top 10 Favorite Disney Songs

Next, I’ll be doing my first documentary review on Jason’s Movie Blog (probably in January or February). It will be my first ever documentary review and I decided upon reviewing the 2016 documentary film Gleason. Check out the trailer below…
Lastly, I will be starting my new “Legacy Review” series on Jason’s Movie Blog. Each year, I will review a movie franchise (each movie will get a review), which will then be followed an editorial piece of the franchise’s legacy in the movie world. So, I’ll start with my personal favorite….

Well, that’s about wraps it up for me in this post. I wish everyone a Happy New Year and a joyful year in 2017. May your lives be happy and joyful this year and (for my fellow movie bloggers and / or followers of Jason’s Movie Blog)… let’s hope all are anticipated films of 2017 are fantastic and great and not huge box office bombs.
