Patriots Day Theatrical Trailer

Wahlberg and Berg reteam for another bio-pic drama as Lionsgate and CBS Films release the theatrical trailer for Patriots Day. View trailer below.
In the aftermath of an unspeakable act of terror, Police Sergeant Tommy Saunders (Mark Wahlberg) joins courageous survivors, first responders and investigators in a race against the clock to hunt down the bombers before they strike again. Weaving together the stories of Special Agent Richard DesLauriers (Kevin Bacon), Police Commissioner Ed Davis (John Goodman), Sergeant Jeffrey Pugliese (J.K. Simmons) and nurse Carol Saunders (Michelle Monaghan) this visceral and unflinching chronicle captures the suspense of the most sophisticated manhunt in law enforcement history and the strength of the people of Boston.
Since the first trailer, there has been a lot of controversy surround this movie. While it does look interesting and I do like Wahlberg and Berg’s other films (Lone Survivor and Deepwater Horizon), but the trailer (again while interesting and poignant) seems a bit embellished from actually happened. In the movie, it looks like the city of Boston is under siege. I know the actually event was travesty and was felt by many in the city of Boston, so I would never discredit the film’s narrative, but it seems a bit much. Whatever your stance on this movie is (i.e. a patriotic feature or another Hollywood propaganda film), Patriots Day is going to be interesting how this movie does when it get released.
Patriots Day opens in limited theaters on December 21st, 2016 and goes nationwide on January 13th, 2017
