Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
I know a lot of people are uber psyched to see the character of Deadpool in a theatrical movie. Unfortunately, I’m not one of those. It’s not like I don’t dislike Deadpool, I’m just don’t see the whole fascination with him. As for the trailer, I thought it was good and Reynolds’s comedy will probably flow correct with Deadpool’s twisted humor. The big question is how the movie will be received by moviegoers. R-rated comic / graphic novel adaptation films have a reputation of being iffy acceptance by both critics and fans, so I am curious to see how that plays out.
