The trials have begun as 20^th Century Fox has just released the teaser trailer to Maze Runner: The Scorch trials. View trailer below.

Solving the Maze was supposed to be the end. Thomas was sure that escape from the Maze would mean freedom for him and the Gladers. But WICKED isn’t done yet. Phase Two has just begun. The Scorch. There are no rules. There is no help. You either make it or you die. The Gladers have two weeks to cross through the Scorch—the most burned-out section of the world. And WICKED has made sure to adjust the variables and stack the odds against them. Friendships will be tested. Loyalties will be broken. All bets are off. There are others now. Their survival depends on the Gladers’ destruction—and they’re determined to survive.

I personally liked the movie The Maze Runner (flaws and all), believing it to be strong enough for further theatrical installments to be produced. This teaser looks promising and carries the thematic bravado from the first one. While most of the scenes in the preview above looks to be mainly from the first act of the film, I am curious to see the next preview (the theatrical trailer) and what it shows. I’ve read the book series prior to this, but I honestly can’t remember that much about The Scorch Trials. Maybe I’ll have to brush up on it before seeing the movie.
