Experiences the Chronicles from the very beginning as Netflix releases the official trailer for their upcoming fantasy adventure Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew. View trailer below.
Two children discover a wood full of pools leading to other worlds. One takes them to a dead city beneath a dying sun, where they wake a queen who exterminated its population and accidentally bring her back to London. Yet, all three bare witness to the birth of a magical land known as Narnia.
I’ve been waiting for this trailer for quite some time and I do have to say that I liked it. I’ve been a big fan of the last iteration of the Narnia movies that Walden Media put out (under Disney and 20th Century Fox) and was always bummed that we never got The Silver Chair or any other ones. So, when it was announced that Netflix was going to be the Narnia series (all seven film) and starting with The Magician’s Nephew, I was pumped. The footage shown in the preview was pretty good and I liked it. There are some artistic visuals that I don’t particular care for (I don’t like the whole sci-fi glam look of Charn and of the witch Jadis) as well as I don’t think the song choice of Led Zepplin’s “Stairway to Heaven” was a good fit for C.S. Lewis’s beloved children fantasy story. Yet, I heard a lot of people liked it. Still, despite that those shortcomings, I am very much excited to see what this new Narnia film brings to the cinematic table and how it will be received by fans, causal moviegoers, and critics alike.
Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew arrives in theaters on February 12th, 2027
