A “whole new world” indeed ass Walt Disney Studios releases the official trailer for their upcoming live action remake film of Aladdin. View trailer below.
“Aladdin” is the exciting tale of the charming street rat Aladdin, the courageous and self-determined Princess Jasmine and the Genie who may be the key to their future. Directed by Guy Ritchie, who brings his singular flair for fast-paced, visceral action to the fictitious port city of Agrabah, the film is written by John August and Ritchie based on Disney’s “Aladdin.”
Interesting. While I’ve stated (many times before) that I’ve really enjoyed a lot of Disney’s recent live-action remakes of its popular animated features, this remake of Aladdin is a bit mediocre. Maybe because I’m not completely sold on Will Smith playing Genie or maybe I’m not sold on several of the other actors / actresses that play the film’s central characters. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but I’m just a little bit leery about this film. This new trailer gives a better perspective on the feature and does make feel a little better about seeing it. Though, I’m more excited to see the remakes of Dumbo and The Lion King. In the end, I’m curious to see how this movie will ultimately “shape up” to be and how much audience (and critics) will receive this movie. I, for one, I’m somewhat intrigued by this live-action remake of Aladdin (whether good or bad).
