Toretto’s past has caught up to him as Universal Pictures released the first official trailer for the upcoming action sequel F9 (or Fast & the Furious 9 to some). View trailer below.
Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto is leading a quiet life off the grid with Letty and his son, little Brian, but they know that danger always lurks just over their peaceful horizon. This time, that threat will force Dom to confront the sins of his past if he’s going to save those he loves most. His crew joins together to stop a world-shattering plot led by the most skilled assassin and high-performance driver they’ve ever encountered: a man who also happens to be Dom’s forsaken brother, Jakob.
I’ll be the first to admit that I do love the Fast & the Furious franchise. Sure, they’ve become more and more ridiculous with its action stunts and over the top nuances, but it’s one of those “guilty pleasure” type feelings that I get when I watch these movies…in a pure cinematic escapism mode (if you know what I mean). So, of course, I’ve been eagerly awaiting the trailer for Fast and the Furious 9 (or F9) and here it is. While I am excited for this movie, this trailer, however, doesn’t get me “pumped”. Its good, but its a bit long and seems to reveal a bit too much of the plot, including the return of Han (#justiceforhan) and Theron’s Cipher. Still, looking beyond that, I’m looking forward to see where this long running action franchise will go within this movie.
