Brilliant, bad, and maybe a little bit mad as Walt Disney Studios releases the official trailer for their upcoming film Cruella. View trailer below.

In 1970s London, young fashion designer Estella de Vil becomes obsessed with dogs’ skins, especially Dalmatians, until she eventually becomes a ruthless and terrifying legend known as Cruella.

Interesting. While i do usually like most of the live-action film adaptation of Disney’s animated features, there have been a few (mostly recently) that are “hit or miss” by trying to be a live-action carbon copy of the source material or too different from its animated counterpart. It’s a hard thing. Cruella looks like to be an origin story for the titular Disney villian, with the movie’s trailer shows Cruella’s descent into madness. In truth, the trailer kind of reminds me of 2019’s Joker. Regardless, I think that actress Emma Stone will be able to pull off the character. All in all, I am interested in seeing Cruella when it comes out in May 2021. The big question (beyond on how well the film will be received) is if the movie will be delayed due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic or will Disney switch gears and release the film on Disney+. Only time will tell….
