The “minions” are back and ready to proven themselves to their new master as Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment release the official trailer for Minions: The Rise of Gru. View trailer below.
A continuation of the 2015 film, this time in the heart of the 1970s, a twelve year old Felonius Gru is growing up in the suburbs. A fanboy of a supervillain supergroup known as the Vicious 6, Gru hatches a plan to become evil enough to join them. When the Vicious 6 fire their leader, legendary fighter Wild Knuckles, Gru interviews to become their newest member. It does not go well, and only gets worse after Gru steals from them and suddenly finds himself the mortal enemy of the apex of evil. On the run, Gru will turn to an unlikely source for guidance, Wild Knuckles himself, and discover that even bad guys need a little help from their friends.
While I do love the Despicable Me movies, the Minions movie was sort of “okay”. Sure, it had its laughs a plenty, but it was kind of one of those movies that really didn’t need to be made as the main Despicable Me films were sufficient enough. Still, there were humorous bits that I did like. Thus, now we have its continuation, with Minions: The Rise of Gru, which (judging from the trailer) looks better than its predecessor. Will this movie be a flop or a success. Only time will tell. For now, I’m looking forward to seeing this movie, but I still hold my reserves about it….

I just saw the movie and it was pretty good. Not as super great as the main Despicable Me movies, but a good improvement than the 2015. As always, thank you for the comment!
I love the Despicable Me movies, but was disappointed by Minions; like you said, it was “okay”, although it did have some fun moments. Hopefully this one’ll be better.

Yes, I wasn’t very curious about Minions, but I might give this one a try. It looks fun!
