When the Emperor of China issues a decree that one man per family must serve in the Imperial Chinese Army to defend the country from Huns, Hua Mulan, the eldest daughter of an honored warrior, steps in to take the place of her ailing father. She is spirited, determined and quick on her feet. Disguised as a man by the name of Hua Jun, she is tested every step of the way and must harness her innermost strength and embrace her true potential.

I have to say that I excited to see this movie. While the original Mulan was pretty good, it definitely was one of the more lesser Disney animated movies out there, especially compared to The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and Lion King. So, I wasn’t too keen on the idea of “another” live-action remake from Disney. However, that notion is out the window after seeing this trailer. I am quite interested in seeing this film as the movie looks pretty good. Yes, there’s probably gonna be some differences between this movie and the original animated feature, but look at 2019’s The Lion King and how that was almost a “shot by shot” comparsion. All in all, while there’s been plenty of live-action remakes from Disney this past year, this new iteration of Mulan has definitely caught my attention…more so than others. Can’t wait to see it.
