After losing his wife seven years earlier, the eccentric Dr. John Dolittle (Downey), famed doctor and veterinarian of Queen Victoria’s England, hermits himself away behind the high walls of Dolittle Manor with only his menagerie of exotic animals for company. But when the young queen (Jessie Buckley) falls gravely ill, a reluctant Dolittle is forced to set sail on an epic adventure to a mythical island in search of a cure, regaining his wit and courage as he crosses old adversaries and discovers wondrous creatures.
Oh wow….I’m kind of interested in seeing this movie. Yes, of course, the movie is remake, so it is a little bit “frowned” upon, especially being released in the first month of the 2020. However, I am excited to see this movie because it looks like to be somewhat similar to the original 1967 film versus the 1998 film (and its sequel). I do like Downey Jr. in the role as Dr. Dolittle. The various animals are a bit “iffy” in CGI visuals, but I’m sure that’s part of the film’s charm. In the end, while it may not be the super awesome movie that many were expecting, I am curious to see how the movie unfolds and how it will be received by both critics and moviegoers.

Looks like it’ll be a decent family movie, but likely unmemorable. It’s at least visually interesting, I suppose.
