Disney’s 1998 animated film Mulan was definitely good installment in the company’s “renaissance era” of motion pictures endeavors. It had all the right amount of ingredients for a hit….a powerful lead character, a love interest, comical side characters, all the songs, etc. While it may not have shined immensely like its predecessors, Disney’s Mulan certainly earned its place. Now, given recent trend of reimagining their classics into live-action productions, this first teaser trailer offers a glimpse at a live-action version of the story. It looks like to ditch a lot of the whimsical aspects and going for a more grounded iteration of the story. So….does that mean no songs and no Mushu? Well, just have to wait and see. However, the overall look of the film (judging from the trailer) looks pretty good. Plus, seeing actors like Jet Li and Donnie Yen together in a movie….is gonna be great. In the end, I’m excited to see how this new live-action remake will turn out. Only time will tell if the movie will be successful…..
