Angelina Jolie returns as Maleficent as Walt Disney Pictures releases the official teaser trailer for their upcoming sequel film Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. View trailer below.
“Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” is a fantasy adventure that picks up several years after “Maleficent,” in which audiences learned of the events that hardened the heart of Disney’s most notorious villain and drove her to curse a baby Princess Aurora. The film continues to explore the complex relationship between the horned fairy and the soon to be Queen as they form new alliances and face new adversaries in their struggle to protect the moors and the magical creatures that reside within.
Hmmm….interesting. While I do have mix thoughts about the 2014’s Maleficent, I did like Angelina Jolie as the titular character of Maleficent. She definitely looked and acted the part of the character of Sleeping Beauty (especially the whole coronation scene). However, I thought that the movie was pretty much a “one and done” endeavor. Thus, I was a little surprised to hear about Maleficent: Mistress of Evil coming out this year. This official teaser trailer for the film looks visually good (much like the last one) and its great to see back Jolie returning to playing the role, but I’m not quite sure that the story warrants returning / continuing Maleficent’s tale. It remains to be seeing if this movie will be good or not. Let’s hope that it is the former and not the latter.

Yes, I agree. I do hope that the plot in the film is a compelling one. That was one my main pet peeves about the first one.
don’t really remember much from maleficent other than angelina jolie pretty much embodied the character, as you said.
can’t really get excited about a sequel, other than they made it so she can turn evil –shrugs–
Yeah, I agree. I’ll go see it, but its something that I’m not super excited about seeing.
