After discovering that drug cartels are smuggling terrorists across the US border, the CIA sends Matt Graver (Josh Brolin) and former undercover operative Alejandro Gillick (Benicio del Toro) to eliminate the problem. Along the way, Alejandro revisits his old nemesis to settle scores.
To be truthful, i thought of the original Sicario to be just okay. Yes, i liked the director Denis Villeneuve (the mind behind Arrival and Blade Runner 2049) and i did like the film’s cast, but (to me) the movie didn’t live up to the hype that it was getting. Who knows….maybe it was just me. I remember hearing that they (the studio heads) were going to make a follow-up sequel to Sicario, but i forgot about it as this new trailer is somewhat of a surprise for me. Judging by the trailer, it looks to be a good one, especially with Brolin and del Toro returning to reprise their respected roles. Sadly, actress Emily Blunt is not returning as her character Kate Macer. Still, Sicario 2: Soldado looks to be interesting and i guess I’ll have to wait and see if i like this sequel (when i see it on its opening weekend).

Motherfucking hype train
Could care less for sequels but Sicario was my favorite film of 2015, and there’s a ton of meat to go back into on Alejandro’s story. Motherfucking hype train, indeed. I’m not even watching the trailer until I’m subjected to it at the theater.
Sicario is a movie I missed and still haven’t seen. Honestly have to say that the trailer for this one looks great😊
