Sam Worthington goes on spiritual journey as Summit Entertainment releases the trailer for the upcoming Christian dram film The Shack. View trailer below.

After suffering a family tragedy, Mack Phillips spirals into a deep depression causing him to question his innermost beliefs. Facing a crisis of faith, he receives a mysterious letter urging him to an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Despite his doubts, Mack journeys to the shack and encounters an enigmatic trio of strangers led by a woman named Papa. Through this meeting, Mack finds important truths that will transform his understanding of his tragedy and change his life forever.

Working at a bookstore, I’ve know of this book (its the same name and it is written by William Young). Judging from this trailer, it looks like a Lifetime TV movie. I’m not saying that a bad thing, but it reminds me of something that particular channel would produced and create. I know the book is super popular and will probably get a lot of people to go see the movie. So who knows. This could be a moderate hit during the Spring of 2017. I do like the cast and the story seems to have a religious faith meaning behind it, so I might check out the book before seeing the movie.

The Shack  opens up in theaters on March 3rd, 2017
